Well! You might have read somewhere on our site about Regionals being a biannual region 10 conference where brothers from across region 10 come together to conduct region business and to participate in workshops promoting leadership, friendship, service (hint: that description is on every page). But if that is not enough for your curiosity, then feast on this: Regionals 2009 will be an epic gathering of leaders in service & friendship who will be bonding through mixers, dance socials, workshops, service, and other fun activities. Just check out some of the workshops we have lined up!
The prices are listed on the registration page, but here's a quick breakdown for you:
Why is the conference not free?
The simple answer is: because it is costing us thousands of dollars to put on this conference. Let's face it: most good things in this world are not free--and the things that are free, are usually skeptical (short of presents from Santa or money from the Tooth Fairy). We have no intention on making any money from the conference, and we have done our best to minimize the costs of the conference. The bundle price of the conference is on par with past Regionals (Regionals 2006's bundle price was $70 as well). But in an effort to save you money, since we are broke college students too, our brothers have kindly offered up their apartments and homes to house you for FREE. We will continue to try to save you money so stay tuned on this website.
YOU! Well, we hope, anyway! But brothers of Alpha Phi Omega from throughout region 10, as well as some distinguished brothers from the National Staff (rumor is it that APO National President Maggie Katz will be making an appearance).
Where am I going to be staying?
That depends on you, actually. We have two main housing options available for conference registrants: hotel housing or housing with a brother. If you choose hotel housing, we will arrange to provide you with a hotel room at our preferred hotel site in downtown Davis. You will be billed for the extra hotel cost in a follow-up email. If you choose housing with a brother, then we will do our best to set you up with some living space with one of our brothers who offer their homes or apartments. Keep in mind that if you choose the latter, it will be based on who registers first since we will have limited spaces, and you will most likely be housed in someone's living room (so bring a sleeping bag). And for those of you who decide to be rebels and do not need housing options from us, we won't be worrying about your housing at all. And hey, if you choose to live in that cardboard box next to the dumpster on campus, we won't judge you. Kudos to you.
Food. Really, ridiculously good food. Davis is home to a huge palette of international cuisine, so you will be able to enjoy everything from all-you-can-eat sushi to delicious Indian food. We will also be providing breakfast Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for conference registrants as part of your conference ticket. And if you attend banquet with us, then we'll be covering Sunday's dinner as well! (Prepare to be amazed!)
